Global Kitchen is a new social enterprise in New York City that promotes cultural exchange through food. We offer cooking classes taught by immigrant Chef Instructors who are food entrepreneurs and small business owners. Our mission is to preserve traditional recipes, promote vibrant cultural exchange, and help immigrant-owned small businesses in New York City to grow.
Join us for our Launch Party and you'll enjoy delicious, home-cooked food prepared by three of our fantastic Chef Instructors:
• Ragab Rashwan, owner of the Falafel Factory food truck, will prepare traditional Egyptian fare
• Veda Sukhu, of Veda's Cakes and Catering, will offer savory Guyanese cuisine
• Nafissa Camara, proprietor of Nafi's Hot Pepper Condiments, will cook up delicious Senegalese dishes
Then, you can wash it all down with tasty brews, sumptuous wines, delicious ciders and delectable sodas provided by our sponsors Alphabet City Brewing Company, Doc's Draft Hard Cider, Q Drinks and Saveur Magazine.
Entertainment will be provided by Nomadic Wax, a local social enterprise that uses music, media and the arts to promote social change and cultural exchange.
We will also be selling raffle tickets for seats in our upcoming classes. Our recent classes – Guyanese, Ethiopian and Egyptian – have completely sold out and received rave reviews!
Get there early and sample a small batch of homebrew developed exclusively for Global Kitchen by our friends at New Clarendon Brewing Co.
Please, no young’uns…. 21 and over only!
